OLIVETTI SCRIBE / LETTERA 22 VINTAGE PORTABLE TYPEWRITER Serial number: 916600. Made in Italy. Designed by Marcello Nizolli. This is a rare example of Olivetti Scribe, which later became Lettera 22. The mechanisms and frames of these typewriters are the same but Scribe has no carriage lock. What makes this model particularly attractive is a beautiful embossed Olivetti logo on the paper plate and uncommon, striped carrying case. Very smooth and quiet typing action with clear font. Very clean with normal age and use related wear, ready for typing. Comes with original carrying case (it is a bit worn), working ribbon on original metal spools and instructions for Lettera 22.
